review 1: I wanted to like this book, despite the mainly unloveable main character (that's the point). I couldn't, though - it felt like the love interest was too facile and the author's moral axe to grind made me feel hit over the head with a particular choice. I understand how that choice could impact someone, but everything felt overly dramatized and just basically infuriating. I wound up skimming just to finish.
review 2: This story is about Cassie Wick. She gets sent to a "rehab" but it is actually a camp. Cassie and her friends got arrested on prom not with stolen pot. At least that the reason she's using for why she got sent to the camp. Cassie is with 2 other girls and there is a boys camp not to far away. Nez, a girl who never shuts up and likes boys and Troy
... moreer is a sweet girl but she doesn't talk. Cassie met Ben at the airport waiting to be taken to the camp. He annoys her but he also likes her. The other 2 boys were funny also. Boys scare Cassie some. It has to do with what sent her to camp in the first place. Everyone is supposed to write in a journal. The book is Cassie's journal thoughts. All the kids do normal camp things like hiking, building a fire, pitching a tent. You learn about Cassie's family and friends. I thought Cassie was really funny. She cussed a lot but most of the stuff she said was funny. I loved Ben. He was genuine and also funny. He really cared about Cassie. The story had laugh out loud moments and heartbreaking moments as well. less
