review 1: This is a great book. I so enjoyed it from beginning to the end. There are so many twists and turns to keep you guessing what's going to happen next as you're reading the story about Heather. Heather is on a mission back in Texas, where she swore she'd never return to, Moses Lake, Texas. Secrets, secrets and more secrets are revealed as the story is told, so many it keeps you interested to the last page. A lot of family history is being kept secret, and Heather is bound to find out what those secrets are.Blaine, a boy she went to school with, comes back into Heather's life, but is she sure she wants him there? In a small town it's hard to hide from anyone, and everyone knows everything about everybody. Heather is not sure she can stand to be around all these people, knowin... moreg what they know.I would highly recommend this book, it is a treasure.
review 2: I had a hard time relating to Heather and I think that kept me more disassociated from the heroine than I was in LARKSPUR COVE and FIREFLY ISLAND. She was such an unsympathetic character with her grudges and resentments. However, the author allows us to see how she evolves as her time of forced confinement in little Moses Lake, Texas, in the company of the mother and brother she is estranged from. She stumbles around trying to find the answers to her family's secrets, the mess of her life, and who she really is or wants to be. Blaine was likeable complication, and Ruth provided a moral compass for her. less

I found the main character frustrating... overall a good message to not live so self centered.

Good Lisa Wingate book. Some family dysfunction which is nice. Easy weekend read.
