review 1: This story involves two cousins who grew up in the privileged world of Tiger House on Martha's Vineyard. We follow their lives through the era of post-WWII as they marry and each have a child. The latter part of the story takes place at the beginning of the 1960s when these two children, now grown, return with their families to the original summer home. It's at this time when the dark and hidden secrets of the family begin to surface. Each of the main characters tells his/her own version of the family history in separate chapters, leading to a dramatic and somewhat startling conclusion.
review 2: I loved this book. I loved the way the author described the time lines and the different characters in an omniscience point of view until the last section when th
... moree book switches into first person. It is interesting to read each person's story and view even though it's not in first person. The way it ties the entire story together is really great. I also really enjoyed the way Liza Klaussman managed to lure me in with the creepiness and mysteriousness she conveyed with one of the characters in particular - Ed. The way she goes back and forth to different timelines is quite exciting and made me not want to put it down. Perfect Summer Book ! less
