review 1: Extinction 1 was a an explosive book filled with twists and turns. Each page left you hanging as you desperately waited to find out the fate of the extremely likeable characters. Annie's leadership, Mac's jokes, Doug's need for food, Rhea's determination, Jax's brains and Kyla's communication all wound up into an excellent book for the search for the remaining twins to save the human race from extinction. As nail-biting start to the two-book series, I loved it!
review 2: This is a good book for primary schools and for up to about Year 8 I think. It is inclined to be a bit melodramatic and stretches the bounds of credulity for an adult, and Wilcock's writing style is not anything special, but the storyline is sufficiently interesting that I kept reading, though
... moreI don't know that I'll bother with the sequel. That's another good thing about it - its only a duet, and this is unusually short for a series by today's standards. Worth having in a school library as it is exciting for this age group and very innocuous. less
