review 1: I would have given this 3 stars if only all three stories hadn't ended the exact same way, with the destined couple holding hands and gazing off into the great unknown. Altogether, Night World 2 isn't that bad, though it does have some minor flaws, it was very okay. I would actually list this as the most okay-ish book I have ever read. There were some parts that I liked (the vampire hunters that leave kickass marks with backscratchers), and there were some parts I didn't (the narration that manages to be irritatingly whiney despite the fact that it is mostly in third-person). I haven't read the previous book, and maybe I would have more patience with the pace of the stories if I had, as I would probably recognize some of the characters and events and have a bit of a bet... moreter understanding, but mostly I just kept getting more and more bored with it. I despised Dark Angel, thoroughly enjoyed The Chosen, and was just so darn tired of it all by Soulmate that I didn't really give it a good chance. The stories can be entertaining in some parts but are mostly just too predictable for me to find enjoyable. I mean, I'm fine with predictability, as long as there's SOMETHING vaguely interesting and different about it, but Night World 2 just felt like the same story told 3 different times with mildly varied characters (even though I know that not true -the settings and plots of the stories are very different- but they just FEEL so similar). Anyway, this book gave me something to do for an entire night, so that was nice. I might look more into this series as summer break progresses, though I hope I will have much more interesting things to do.
review 2: I don't know if I've grown out of this kind of book, or if this one was just bad. I loved the idea of the Night world and the way that each book was based around new struggles in different people. But I felt like it was lacking. Maybe if this book was aimed at Adults Fantasy instead of YA I might have enjoyed it more, it might have given the story more depth so I could get hooked. This book idea had so much potential. less

Interesting, kept me entertained. Some characters travel throughout each book, some do not.
