review 1: 60/100This series was very good and there were things i loved about it. However the story line wasn't very original, and the characters were too extreme-very bad or very good.Cassie's vacation on Cape Cod gets brought to an exciting end when she meets and protects this mysterious guy who appears to be able to read her mind. He leaves her with nothing but a stone and no name or address.Instead of moving back to California like Cassie had planned on, her mother and her moved to New Salem Massachusetts to take care of their aging grandmother. In New Salem Cassie discovers that witches exist, and that she is one of them. After joining the coven called the Circle mysterious deaths plague the town. All of which can be traced back to a crystal scull that Adam, one of the circle m... moreember and Cassie's best friends boyfriend brought back.Adam also happens to be the boy Cassie met on Cape Cod, and fell in love with.I loved the way the story flowed, but the characters were very extreme and the plot line unoriginal. All and all a good read, but definitely not a favorite.
review 2: I liked these books a lot, I really did. I seem to always fall for L.J. Smith’s writing. I was kind of pissed that Cassie wasn’t with Adam but then she gets with him in the end, so that made me happy. I thought it was weird how Diana was totally cool with it though. Like really, if you had been dating a guy for basically your whole life, would you be cool with someone else taking him? I think not.I liked how this book was so suspenseful. It seemed like there was a surprise at every chapter.Me rating a book 4 stars is amazing. Like I only rate books that I re read like twenty times, 5 stars. So 4 stars is pretty epic on my part. I was spell bound (sorry for the bad pun, I couldn’t help myself) by this book. It was captivating and drew me right in. I am super excited to read the next one but I’m not sure when that while happen. It on my list, all right? But my list has close to 400 books on it. So you never know how long it will take. less
