review 1: Otis, that loveable red tractor, enjoys playing Hide-and-Seek with his farm friends, none of whom is very skillful at finding good hiding places. When the farmer introduces a puppy to the friends, Otis and the puppy grow closely--in part because they share the same fear of the dark. Otis must overcome that fear, though, when the puppy gets lost in the woods while following a butterfly as everyone plays Hide-and-Seek. After all, he can't leave his friend alone in the woods once it gets dark. The story is sweetly appealing while the illustrations depict the puppy's exuberant spirit perfectly as the little dog licks Otis's face and stands proudly atop the tractor, the friend that didn't let it down. I love the illustrations that show the farm animals hiding in plain sight and... more those that show the puppy with an ear cocked to show its interest. I love these Otis books and can never get enough of a tractor with a heart of gold.

Otis is a happy tractor that loves the farm life. He is a hard worker, but he also loves to play with his other farm animal friends after he finishes all of his jobs. One day the farmer introduces a new puppy to Otis and the farm animals. They have fun with puppy. The farm animals have a favorite game to play, hide and seek. Otis doesn't like the dark so he always tries to be home before then; however, one night, Otis' new friend, the puppy gets lost in the forest in the dark. Otis has no choice but to go help his new friend get home safely. Otis has to overcome his fear of the dark to find his friend. Can he do it? If you like pets or farm animals, you'll love this book! less
