review 1: Trace of Fever continues from When You Dare left off. It is Trace River's story. He goes undercover as the main bodyguard/head of security to Murray Coburn, a successful, yet corrupt businessman and who runs a human trafficking ring. Trace and Priscilla (Priss) want to take Murray down. Actually, kill him. Both have that in common. In When You Dare, Trace's sister, Alani, was abducted and kidnapped by human traffickers. Dare McIntosh, Trace's best friend in When You Dare, rescued Alani and brought her back home safe and unscathed. Whereas Priss's mom was abducted and kidnapped by Murray. During the two weeks that she was held captive, her mom was raped by Murray; then, he passed her on to his friends for the same abuse. At the first opportunity, she had gotten a... moreway. However, the damage was done. Her mom was paranoid. She had told Priss what had happened to her; thus, every chance she got, she told Priss the evil of men and forbade Priss from having a social life. Her mom opened a porn shop and Priss ran it. He mom figured a porn shop would be the last place Murray would find her. Her mom died broken, paranoid, unhappy and distrustful. However, her last reluctant words to Priss was that not all men were evil. Priss was heck bent on finding Murray and seeking revenge. She came to his place of business claiming to be his long lost daughter. She meets Trace and the attraction was instantaneous. It didn't help either that she and Trace had to spend alot of time together. He had to strip search her, accompany her to the clothing boutique to purchase clothes Murray dictated for all his female counterparts to wear, which were barely there and next to nothing. From the moment Trace met Priss, he wanted to protect her from Murray and his chemist/lover, Helene (Hell). Hell had the hots for Trace and told/showed him every chance she got. Hell was responsible for making the drugs that made the captive women more susceptible to orders. She had a special concoction she wanted to try on Trace and she succeeded but failed to fulfill her wish. Priss and Jackson, a new recruit to Trace & Dare's organization, rescued Trace from Hell's clutches. Dare, Chris, Molly and the two beloved dogs from When You Dare appear in this novel. So does a new character, Matt - who is gay and a friend of Chris. He is a hair and make up stylist. Alice, Murray's Executive Assistant, is the person that saves the day. She also has her own storyline and romantic trysts in Bare It All. I really liked the novel. I love the Alpha Male - protective, strong, battle and weapon ready with a strategic plan in place for escape routes. Heck what female does not want a Trace, Dare and/or Jackson in her life. I love the strong, stubborn, yet soft female heroine who always gets her man and is putty in his hands. Priss did not have a family and/or friends. With Trace in her life, she has one. Due to his job and business, Trace did not think he would find someone and/or settle down. Yet when, Priss walked into his life, he had his hands full and now he does not want for anything else. I love Jackson. He is funny, cocky and confident. I am looking forward to reading about him and Alani in the next installment, Savor The Danger.
