review 1: I tried really hard to like this book but no dice. Given that it was published in 2010, I get that the social media aspect of it would be a little different than the present but this was more circa 2005-6-7. Because seriously, who in 2010 still used AIM? Weren't kids texting or gchatting already? Then there was the actual plot - the internet predators - wasn't that a big thing in 2004-2007 (hint hint: Dateline: To Catch a Predator)? It was so done by the time this book was published so I couldn't even give an excuse as to how outdated the subject matter was. Then there was the romantic plot - which I found really confusing. I'm not sure why she would be attracted to him considering he was always trying to break into her locked rooms or shove her aside or outrun her to... more try to get into her stuff. What was it any of his business whether she was playing detective or wanted to lock her rooms or have surveillance cameras? Right after their outrageous sex scene (which was exactly halfway through), I abandoned the book. The unoriginal murder-mystery plot I can stomach, the caveman male protagonist I can stomach, but the (unrealistic) rainbows, butterflies and stars sex scene was the absolute dealbreaker.
review 2: Special Agent Kylie Donovan knows what evil men can do. She lost her sister awhile back to a predator, and they never found or solved the case. years later, she is the lead detective with predators. She starts posing as a colleague student trying to get close and arrest the predator who is raping, killing and beating up girls,he meets them on the internet and then at a place they are comfortable at. the problem is everything is pointing to a local law enforcement cop, Lieutenant Perry Flynn has a personal interest in the case, his nieces can be a victim they fit the profile of the age, gender and personality. Find out about this tongue twister and how Lorie O'Clare points everything to one victim then suddenly they are cleared and turns out to be someone else. i found it interesting, less
