review 1: I can see that a lot of people, some of whom I have high regard for did not particularly care for this book. I have to break with the pack on this one as come out as a fan.I completely understand the criticism. Especially some of the reviews that took issue with the fact that the book offers a narrow, cartoonish stereotype of heterosexual male behavior.I get it. I totally do. And I agree. But I have to admit, I laughed out loud a bunch of times while listening to this thing (I have the audio version and I probably would have felt differently if I had committed the energy to reading it, but it was kind of a perfect listen). I'd say far from excluding gay and gender gender nonconforming men. The book opens a market for another, equally fascinating book on the neurological su... morebstrates (no pun intended) of queerness. Anyway. Given that the book "is what it is", I have to say I heartily enjoyed it and would recommend it.
review 2: This book was ok. It was an eye opening experience for understanding the biologically wired male brain. The facts are good to know. I felt that the stories or examples with-in the book where pretty boring however and gave the book a kind of fictiony feel i guess. Where is i really wanted more information and facts on the male brain circuit and not just random stories from cliental. It felt particularly boring. less
