review 1: First half of the book; great, gripping, witha character you loved to hate mixed with humour and realism and the tables turned and it turned into a mess. I can see how the twist could have been amazing; and although I couldn't think of it automatically; the book did have some foreshadowing - but to transform in the bat of a few chapter's into a rational; loving man and a complete Disney villain lunatic - great idea; great execution, till it just fell apart. Tense and suspenseful and moments; the last half of the book broke the rule of a good anti hero - make them interesting - sure, the character was very much the anti hero/villain; but so hysterical and uncalculated you just couldn't care; and the ending was tied up too neatly too, with a quick reversion, and though i was... more meant to be unsettling it just seemed tacky.
review 2: What the hell have I just read! This is the worst book I have ever read. Ok let me spoil it for you. Guy creeps woman out, woman not interested. Guy backs off and gets a life and a gf. Then woman Starts to stalk him. Guy ends up in prison ( for writing in his thoughts that he murdered 2 woman) but we don't know. Then the woman he was stalking at the beggining falls in love with him when he's in prison! What's he in prison for? Writing his thoughts down? less
