review 1: A SEAL team is sent into Nigeria to rescue others that have gone missing. What they find is a mysterious bunker with creatures that could be human or not. I like my zombies and this story caught my attention, and was a little different (slightly) then others I’ve read. It suffered from being unedited as some of it was repetitive and stilted. I knew from the beginning that it would not have a straight forward conclusion (as there are sequels). I still enjoyed it and it pulled me enough that I would reads the second book in the series. I also thought it is too short (166 pages). But hey, if you are into zombies, give it a try.
review 2: I liked it. Which is odd, because it pissed me off. During one point of the book the team was infiltrating a bunker. The descr
... moreiptions of the bunker is what pissed me off. The descriptions were just SO detailed about this stairway and this wall being against dirt and that stairwell leading to this stairwell and that hallway leading to this hallway...good Lord. I was frustrated trying to keep track of all that in my head. Other than that, the book was good. Each author has their own take on zombies and they each like to toss in different tidbits here and there. Of course, everyone knows that to kill a zombie you need to destroy the brain, so that's a given. How these came to be is usual and tired. How they acted was different and new. I was intrigued. I am intrigued enough to try the second book. The ending was a little "eh, was that it?" ish. I still liked it. less
