review 1: This is a great spin off to the book "There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Fly" the same concept the old lady swallow objects and animals. It is a very funny book that preschoolers would have a laugh about. The illustration and pictures are created very dark a lot of black coloring in the picturing, it is a rhyming book which makes it easy to read and knowing the original book helps the children go long with the read. Learning Experience: This is a great flannel board piece, for story time right before nap the teacher can take this book out and have the old lady and the pieces to the story so when she swallows an object or animal it she can swallow it. After the story you can ask children, What things do you put in your and what don't you put in your mouth? What can happe... moren if you put___ in your mouth?
review 2: The story “There was an old lady who swallowed a chick!” is about an old lady who swallowed a chick and many more things, but she never got sick. This book is funny and fun to read to find out what the old lady is going to eat next. The pictures in the story are just hilarious and make you laugh. The text is a good size which will help beginning readers. It is a good book to read out loud to the class because of the rhyme it has or you can even put it with music. less
