review 1: I love Lucinda Riley's books, and this one didn't disappoint. Written in the past, Anahita's story was heartbreaking yet beautiful. In the present I found Rebecca's story a little too twee, she was a bit too 'perfect' for a Hollywood A-lister for me. I also found towards the end, the panic she felt of being poisoned, the comparisons to Violet and the incident with 'Alice' all a bit unbelievable and out of sync with the story up to that point. However, thankfully it was a minor irritation for me, and did not spoil my overall thoughts on the book.
review 2: There was an unexpected turn of events near the end of this book which took me by surprise. But it didn't detract from the main story line. Just nicely helped tie the story together. I thoroughly enjoyed thi
... mores book. The characters were very well written and believable. The plot was very true to the lifestyle of the 1920s England. I enjoyed how the author I look forward to reading other books by Lucinda Riley. less
