review 1: This book is destined to make you happy! ! if you're feeling down and sad just look at the pictures and you will feel a little bit better ! :D Sloths are my favourite animals and a book about sloths? Since i got it eastern 2013 i showed it to everyone :D and everyone loves it! Ok theres not much text but the text is not important when you can have that pictures :D kittens? puppys? No way near as cute as baby sloths ;D review 2: 3.5 stars. The photos alone would be 5 stars. While it was definitely an enjoyable read, I didn't care too much for the narrative. I felt the photos could speak for themselves, and the author's cutesy language was unnecessary ("After his trip to the sloth salon, Mateo looks even more like a puffball, which kind of annoys him." "Did someb... moreody order a bucket of sloth?") Simple, straightforward text would have given this book more versatility and appeal to a wider audience. Kids will pick up this book for the beautiful photos, but they will want to learn more about these creatures. Be sure to have another book on sloths handy for kids who want more information. less
