review 1: 4.5 stars. LOVED this story so much. You guys it's sooo real. I feel like I know all of these characters. Some of the scenes in the beginning literally had me laughing out loud, others had my heart dropping. Shane and Kate's relationship evolving is of course a large part of the story and I love them as a couple,but it's his life changing, all consuming bond with baby Logan that this tale truly centers around and it's done so well. I highly recommend this read.
review 2: This story is kind of chick-lit from a guys POV with a cute romance. Story starts off slow with Shane and his friends and I started to skim thinking this one was rather blah. Things pick up once Shane finds out his sister died and left a newborn for him to look after. Life in a trailer, worki... moreng construction, playing gigs on the side and partying with his friends is all he knows. That is until baby Logan is put in his arms and his life gains purpose. Young Shane's world is turned upside down learning to take care of a baby. It's funny, real, sweet and tender. Poor guy is definitely out of his comfort zone and clueless trying to be a single dad juggling a baby and work. But Shane takes his responsibilities seriously and it's endearing watching him love and care for baby Logan. Some angst about 3/4ths through when Logan's biological father turns up. Kate as the love interest is Shane's strength and support as well as baby Logan's social services advocate. She struggles with her attraction for Shane but can't help but fall for him.Very sweet, heartwarming story with a great HEA and a good dose of reference to music and movies from the eighties. less
