review 1: The cover sucks. Don't let it fool you. I let it fool me, and this book quickly took the back seat to flashier covers on my kindle. When I finally did root it out from the bottom of the pile and dust it off, I found a real gem underneath that dark, boring cover.The characters are awesome. They feel like real people. I can totally see myself meeting any of the characters in this book in real life..and I kind of want too. Especially Dek *fans face*. Both leading characters in this novel made mistakes along the way, sometimes in the most gut-wrenching, public ways possible. This is not what I call a whips and chains BDSM book. The sex is not the focus point - but the sex is good! Ms. Aicher knows how to writes some phenomenal sex scenes! This book is about the bond between do... morem and sub, about the innate depth of trust it both requires and fosters. I absolutely loved this book, and am running off to Amazon to buy the rest of them - crappy covers aside. Time for a buying frenzy!
review 2: Disclaimer: I received this book from GoodReads First Reads.This is the book that anyone who has read (and especially those you enjoyed) 50 Shades of Grey should read. This is what the 'scene' is all about!The build of trust between the two characters, the settings, all of it rings true and seems to just highlight what a wonderful job of writing Lynda Aicher did. It reads almost like you are watching something unfold in real time. Bonds of Trust is what 50 Shades aspired to be - but written honestly, no holes barred, and is just beautiful. Anyone with even a passing interest in this genre needs to read this book. less
