The above article appeared in the Ghost Column of Dublins Evening Herald newspaper on the 4th of December 1957. With only the clues in the article I was unable to uncover any further information. I could find no priest who was murdered in the Glasnevin area, a suburb of Dublin and very much then in the countryside, many years ago. Perhaps the viewer mistook the spectre as a priest when it was something else indeed.
It is perhaps a little unsatisfying as the story seems incomplete, but doesn’t that make it all the more real? It is only in novels and the movies that we are provided with all the satisfying answers. Perhaps some of our readers might shed some light on this case?
