review 1: These stories are intense, raw, difficult, and poignant. They are not stories you "enjoy" but rather stories you "feel" in all of their grit, humour, and candor. ... morelitarized level it feels like something we would hear about on the news, not something from a future. The stories themselves are layered and invite you to follow the metaphors and the evolution of the characters struggles through to conclusion. I enjoyed reading this book but I don't think a single one of these stories will stay in my memory.

An uneven collection but there are a few absolute beauties, like the last story.
