review 1: It was ok, not near as good as the first or the second book. There was a lot of mushy words which i don't usually mind except there was way to much. Plus, Morgan and Miach's intimate moments consisted of a lot of throwing ones self into his arms and lots if crying, for being a hardened mercenary she sure become weepy after touching the dagger. The plot drug on too, I found my self skipping pages and not missing much. I also actually yelled out loud during the part at the well, she wasnt focused and could have cost a great many people their lives for her reminiscing and ineptitude to pay attention to what she was doing. However, I did like the surprise at her fathers castle, that was cool. Wish Morgan would have been more like Katsa in Graceling but still a good characters,... more Miach was the best though, perfect mage. Glad I read once probably wont read again though.
review 2: You would think that an action-packed, magical, love story would keep the attention of its readers so well that the book was impossible to put down. This was not the case this time. I adored the first two books with its heroic characters, twisted family trees, and undeniable love. I could not get into this book though. They kicked the bad guys butt and accomplished their mission to keep the Nine Kingdoms safe, but the whole book felt like "ehh." I don't get how it could fall down hill so fast! Something has to keep the series going. I really hope the next adventure can pick up the pieces and become an unbelieveable tale again. This were going so well before... less
