review 1: Couldn't finish it. The story is written so unrealisticly. Everyone gets along and accepts everyone and all their faults. No one fights or argues. Everyone is always so concerned about everyone else's feelings.....good god! The main population of the world are walking corpses that are trying to eat you! One would think that there might be some tension or hysteria? Nope. Not in this book. Too bad too, because she had a good idea going but lost it in all the lovey dovey stuff. If you're a 15 year old girl, this would be right up your alley.
review 2: I was given this book and the second one in the series as a recommended introduction to the zombie sub-genre. The perpetual whining and moaning of the main characters will give me nightmares for years to come
... more. The story itself in actually quite good, especially the trick of having cognitive and intelligent zombies, however that doesn't come close to balancing the fatal flaws with the main characters. Their constant bleating makes the dialogue unbearable and intensely irritating. less
