review 1: Machine empathy and transhumanism are some of my favorite things, so it was clear from the start that this would be a book for me. And I did enjoy it. That being said... In a lot of places it feels like it's piled on too thick. Whether it's an attempt to make a point, push morals, or sway emotions, it's anything but subtle. On top of that, the number of modern pop culture references are going to date this book incredibly fast. This wasn't a cupcake, but I still didn't really feel fulfilled after finishing it.
review 2: An intriguing story. The relationship with granny after the protagonist ,a robot, consumed her granny was reminiscent of schizophrenia. Amy, the protagonist, tries her best to keep granny under wraps within her own circuitry but granny not only ta
... morelks to her and verbally through her but also can possess Amy's body. Rampages occur with granny in the helm and Amy is left being trapped inside her own shell. How many decisions are her own? How much is granny manipulating her? What is right? Will she ever be able to exist without the constant tension? less

Lots of cool ideas - something I value in science fiction. Fast, enjoyable read.

Brilliant sci-fi from an author new to me. Glad to see there is a sequel.
