review 1: For some reason I could not finish this one. I've read other books by this author, and I don't remember having this issue before. However, this book was very hard for me to get into. The main female was overly shrewish, and the male lead, although nice, alternated between a walking cliché of an upstanding cowboy and a doormat when it came to the aforementioned shrew.Maybe things get better midway through the book, I don't know. I was too bored to find out.
review 2: I have read a LOT of Maggie Shayne's mysteries and have enjoyed them all. I always look forward to a book coming out. I've never read the Vampire series...yet. I do intend to, but I want to get them in order. This is the first romance I have read written by Maggie Shayne and I really liked it. It w... moreas a fun book to read. It has a little bit of everything, adventure,mystery, romance, (of course, lol). I would recommend her romance books too if you are a fan of hers or even if you aren't yet a fan, you will enjoy these books. less
