review 1: *I received this ARC from the author for a honest review*Broken CommunicationCasey Black is a genetically altered man who is little more wolf than man. His mate Harmony has been kidnapped and he needs to find her and tell her what she means to him as she thinks he hates her. Harmony is a stubborn, outspoken, intelligent and caring woman who is magikal. She comes from a wealthy family and likes the good things in life. She's been trying to help her best friend find information on the the scientists who are doing the experiments and she knows that her farther is responsible. She gets taken and put in a cell where she's been told she will be sold. She can't use her magik to help her escape and doesn't know what to do. But she has a saviour in the form of a bear shifter who h... moreappens to be a friend of Casey's. Just as his helping her escape her mate comes looking for her. I really enjoyed this story. I loved the storyline and the style of writing and OMW I just loved the characters, Bill and Gus. They were just so cute and adorable. There were a few grammatical errors but took nothing away from the story. I'm really looking forward to book 2 and I definately recomment it!
review 2: An okay opening to what could be quite an entertaining series. While this first book was pretty short and suffered from too little background story and a bit too much predictability, cheesiness and, well, porn (don't get me wrong, I have nothing against good, explicit sex scenes - these just didn't really do it for me and the sex/story ratio could use some improvement), the overall premise of a special ops team consisting of different both naturally born and artificially created shifters is promising. With more time spent on the action parts and the actual story and characters rather than just what they get up to in bed, this series could certainly deliver some very enjoyable reads. less
