review 1: OH MERCY ME!!!WOW! I cannot tell you how much I loved this book, but I will try!  I couldn’t help but connect with Duke! I LOVED his fight with technology and how much he hates it and can’t/won’t adapt to it! I thought I was going to pee myself right from the start! And then his “fight” with the mystery phone caller! You could tell right from there that this was going to be another great Mandy story! Well, if you are like me and LOVE Mandy’s writing, then you will understand when I say that it is very hard to find a book that was written by Mandy that is NOT a 5 star! I don’t like to give spoilers in my reviews, but I will happily tell you how awesome Mandy’s books are! No matter what kind of book you like to read, I am sure that you will find ... moreone for you in her booklist, and then from there you will be hooked! If you can become attached to the characters within the first page or two that you read about them and get pulled in to and become a part of the world that is created, well, to me that says something! I like when I can get absorbed into a story right from the get-go and want to keep reading right to the end and then to the next book in the series. All of these things are important to me and all add up to showcasing just how great the author, aka Mandy, truly is, but to be able to do this time and again, not only has proven how talented she is, she has also surpasses that and gone straight to showing that she has that rare talent that only a few authors truly have!
review 2: This was a great start for a spin off of the Immortal Ops Series! Ms. Roth has succeeded where others have failed, and that is to create a world that is fun, action packed and semi-believable. Duke is a alpha male werewolf that hates everything, while Mercy is a scientist that was unaware how deep she was into this world. As with the Immortal Ops series, this book not only gave the story of Duke and Mercy, it gave a glimpse into the other Ops agents as well. i have already read Acts of Surrender and know the series only gets better. less
