review 1: This series goes in my POS category.I read this series as a single book. If I had read them as a series I would not have gone past the first "book." Some of the ideas of the way the vampire world works are interesting and I think could be made into a pretty good story. Unfortunately the author was more concerned about the stories erotica aspects and really dropped the ball on storyline or world building. Frankly I don't understand what the hell is going on these stories other than that apparently, the lack of sex makes these guys really aggressive and they are ready to basically end the world if they have to in order to obtain a hole to put it in.The writing is bad and confusing, the characters don't actually have character, there is essentially no plot and each "book" or ... morechapter (as I read it) is pretty repetitive.
review 2: This series was a hard one to get into. The first book was pretty cringe-worthy, a lot of rape took place and that can make a reader extremely uncomfortable, right? It was strange but yet…it was almost like a car wreck; I wanted to look away, but I couldn’t.I pushed through the first book and found that if I ignored the awkward rape that took place every once in a while I could get through it. I don’t understand WHY Marata Eros felt the need to push the idea that sexual need was SO strong the WAY that she did, but she did…and that ruined things for me. I could have understood the need and urgency without there being so much rape involved.I’m sorry I ever recommended this series to any of my readers. I take back last Wednesday’s Wicked Wednesday because no one should be introduced to such awful degrading smut. It’s sad really, because the rest of the story ALMOST made up for the disgusting bits.I got through the first three books that I had recommended to you last week and that’s all I can handle of this series. It’s pretty awful. It would have been GREAT, really great if there wasn’t so much rape to get around. Seriously, it’s just unnecessary. I may try reading something else written by Marata Eros because I feel that I could enjoy her writing, just not like this.Again, I apologize for ever recommending it. I’ll be doing more research next time I recommend a book to my readers. less
