review 1: I really liked this book. I'm probably at a 3.5 stars, which I rounded up to 4. Seems like it had very mixed reviews - primarily from Keyes fans who felt this book didn't measure up to some of her other books. I've not read her works before, so I have nothing to compare to and this one hooked me from the beginning. It wasn't until the end that I figured out why the star was there, which was fun. I loved the interplay between the residents of 66 Star Street, and loved getting to know them. Fione was the only one to me that was pretty unbelievable - seemed more like a doll on a shelf than a believable character, but that may have been intentional. Also, I am a reader who does not like to be kept hanging - I want to know the story after the story, so I really enjoyed the i... morenclusion of an epilogue. I'll look forward to reading more of her works.
review 2: This one is a bit creepy for me. All of the characters in this novel are a bit messed up. There weren't many people that were likeable and those that were had only the slight likability factor. 66 Star Street is a building in Ireland. It has many apartments with different people living troubled lives. But, there is also an entity of sorts hovering around and helping the reader to learn about these bizarre people. I was able to read the book, but it was just too weird for full enjoyment. less

Love Marian Keyes novels, but after I started realized I had read it before. Still enjoyed it.

I loved it. I do not believe it started out light and became dark.
