When Tohrment lost his shellan Wellsie, he lost part of himself too. Once a feared and respected leader of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, what left of him was just a shell of the male he used to be. What he didn’t realize was as he suffered in living, so did she in the afterlife. He needed to move on to ease both of their suffering.

No’One knew suffering first hand. With a tragic past, she carried her burden quietly, barely living the life bestowed upon her. She wanted to help Tohr find peace, but she had her own demons that needed exorcising.

“You will always have my sympathy for everything you’ve been through, but I’ve got my own shit to deal with.”

Throughout the series, Tohr has been moping and acting selfishly. While I understand his grief, it was time for him to man up. It took him a long time to “get it” and along his journey of acceptance, he wasn’t exactly my favorite person lol!

“I have no need or desire to take her place. And I accept you just as you are, in any fashion you choose to come to me. Or not, if that is the way it must be.”

No’One was probably the most passive character I’ve ever read. Her quiet gentleness not only stemmed from her upbringing, but also the result of her past. Her self esteem issue made me wanted to shake her at times.

The truth was, she was calling something out of him, some kind of emotion, and those feelings were starting to turn gears inside of him that were rusted and cranky from lack of use. It terrified him. She terrified him.

As tragic as it sounds with their own individual issues, I think both of them really were perfect for each other. Only someone who’s been in the same hell would understand what it takes to get out of it. So even though both of them could be frustrating, I did enjoy the deeper part of the story.

I also like all the secondary stories. I hated Xcor when he was first introduced in the series, but he showed a different side of him in this book and I’m curious on how he’ll evolve.

Lover Reborn is a story of two people learning to accept their past and help each other to move on. I’m looking forward to the next book especially that it’s of one of my favorite character.
