  • The Hate U Give (THUG), by Angie Thomas:

ABSOLUTELY MARVELLOUS! THUG is one of the most important books I’ve ever read and I’m so glad I decided to finally pick it up. If you’re still indecisive about reading it go to your bookstore. Or library, or SOMEWHERE and read it!

  • Simon VS the Homo Sapiens Agenda, by Becky Albertalli:

Finally got to read this book and it was the CUTEST ROMANCE CONTEMPORARY THAT HAS EVER GRACED THIS EARTH. Seriously I loved everything about it, the family dynamics, the gay representation, the friendships EVERYTHING. Read this one also.

  • Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, by Benjamin Alire Sáenz:

Probably on my all time favourites list. Ari and Dante is a stunning book in every sense of the word. The writing style totally captivates you, it is so lyrical and poetical. Beautiful. And the relationship between my two boys? MAGICAL.

  • The Sun is Also A Star, by Nicola Yoon:

I’m telling you this is the first book I read by Nicola Yoon (yes I’ve not read everything everything surprise) and I’m certain she is going to be HUGE. There’s something about the way she writes that leaves a mark. I have faith she will write a true masterpiece some day. TSIAAS discusses important issues and has the most adorable romance. The only insta love I claim and that’s saying A LOT.

  • Days of Blood and Starlight, by Laini Taylor

I love Laini Taylor. Her writing style feeds my soul, waters my crops, clears my skin and cures me of my depression (if you’re noticing a theme with writing styles good you’re right there is one). This is the sequel to Daughter of Smoke and Bone and it is so so so much better. The plot moves forward and it takes such great turns. I feel like this series is an amazing one for fans of allegories and telling something important through metaphors and imagery. Surprisingly I have a review so give it a look if you want!

  • The Deal, by Elle Kennedy:

The Deal restored my faith in the NA romance genre no joke. After a couple of disappointing encounters I was ready to give up when this jem found its place in my hands. Deeper than I thought it would be, but nonetheless sexy as hell, The Deal is perfect if you’re looking for a hot romance with amazing characters that you will adopt  and an interesting enough plot. Read more of my thoughts here.

  • Stalking Jack the Ripper, by Kerri Maniscalco:

One of the most pleasant 2017 surprises. I LOVE THE CHARACTERS! Audrey Rose is my new queen and saviour and Thomas is my new boy crush I can’t deal with the feels right now I just want to hug them and *squeals* Read my spoiler free review for something more cohesive -not really.

  • The Rose and the Dagger, by Renée Ahdieh:

I read this on the first months of the year, when I didn’t have the blog yet, and even though I don’t remember much I remember I loved it. Not as much as I loved The Wrath and the Dawn, but still enough to make it to this list. Shahrzad MY ONE TRUE QUEEN and Khalid, be still my heart. True OTP right here.

It comes as no surprise that from all 8 books I’ve only reviewed 3 because reviewing books you loVE IS THE HARDEST THING IN THE WORLD, it’s not me saying that it’s the law of nature.

Anyway, what do you think of my favourite books of 2017? What are yours? Leave your links below if you have a relevant post, I’d love to check them out!! Until next time, happy reading and happy holidays! xxx Advertisements Share this:
