review 1: Ms Pappano writes a very powerful story of love, acceptance and betrayal by those who should love their spouses and children unconditionally.This is the story of Therese Matheson, her stepchildren who are unwanted by their mother and Keegan Logan who comes to see Therese's late husband, Major Paul Matheson, not knowing he died in Afghanistan...leaving behinfpd a child from a one night stand with Keegan's girlfriend while Keegan was in Afghanistan.I'm looking forward to #3 in the series about Jessy and Dalton.
review 2: 3.5 to 4 stars. So much of this was family--the complicated, emotional effort required to bring a blended family together as they slowly bond and grow to love each other. It's a romance and there's a man in the mix, too. A nice man. I enjoyed thi... mores. There's quite a bit of story here for the next book's heroine and, just me, I found it distracting from this book's story. I liked that other gal, and I know her book will be good, but every time she came on stage, I wanted to go back to the main characters. less
