review 1: Cute story about how egotistical the big bad Wolf is. He walks through the woods asking various characters from fairy tales (Little Red Riding Hood, Three Little PIgs, Dwarfs, etc.) until he comes across what he thinks is a toad. The toad tells the wolf that the his mother is the strongest. Wolf gets angry and starts shouting. Until he realizes that the "toad" is really a baby dinosaur! The illustrations use bold black lines. The pages alternate between double page spreads of a forest scene, and a double page spread of white with just the wolf and other character drawn in.
review 2: I love this! The translation worked really well because the book had me laughing on every page. I adore the pictures--especially the one of the 3 little pigs. A great use of a
... more variety of fairy tales; that made me smile. And the ending is fabulous. A nice idea for a school-age or even a preschool storytime. Just make sure you do well with the Wolf's voice and inflections!1/11/12 Worked well in both storytimes. I opened with this book. So, even with the stragglers coming in late, they got the point of the book and enjoyed the ending. Kids and parents both loved the end. Younger groups, so not as much response as I hoped for, but I think they still enjoyed it. less
