review 1: SO WORTH 5 STARS! I love this book! It has such rich vocabulary and the way the wolf speaks is hilarious. The wolf looks spiffy today and so he goes around asking everyone who is the most handsome in the woods. Here's one of his "greetings": "Now tell me, you ridiculous little gizzard, who's the handsomest of all?" Cracks me up! I guess I love that he's pretty much insulting people right before they give him a complement. Not what I was expecting from children's literature.
review 2: The Big Bad Wolf admires himself so much that everyone he meets in the forest must agree. Who would argue with a wolf?Ramos writes a fun and sassy tale about an arrogant animal. His interactions with other fairytale creatures is quite amusing. The illustrations are bold and ... morebright. Young listeners might not catch all the turn of phrase but older listeners and readers will be amused by the wolf's questions and statements.Reviewed from a library copy. less
