review 1: More of a 3.5 star to me. It had moments where it was a little slow and the book took a while to move along, but overall it was an interesting book. I found it interesting because she not only saw ghosts, she was actually dreaming about them and going back in time as part of it. There was a mystery in there that had you wondering who everyone was and if she truly was one of characters. However, a few things were really good and a few things still throw me.First, I had no idea that Pippa was the one to invite Peter in until just before she kidnapped Maddison. I actually thought it was Jackson at first too, then wondered about Ollie for 2 seconds, then Monty, then realized I had no idea who until much later. That was the great part since it kept me on my toes trying to figur... moree out who it was.Rupert drove me crazy...one minute he wanted Maddie and the next he was pushing her away. Honesty up front would have been great to avoid all of the back and forth with them. However, Maddie had issues too, even though I could understand her better since how many people truly would not have thought she was crazy if she said she talked / saw ghosts. Last, not sure I still understand her connection to Sarah...was she a descendant only or did she truly share her soul with her (i.e. sort of reincarnated)? And uh, are she and Rupert distantly related? It wasn't the most exciting "I have to read this right now" book, but it was a good paranormal mystery that I enjoyed.
review 2: First off I have to say I was interested in this book because I really enjoy paranormal stories and I also love British Historical books/movies (Pride & Prejudice was by far one of my favorites). This book did not let me down. It was such a good mixture of these two genres. I had a hard time putting this book down. I will be watching for the next book in this series.A copy of this book was provided to me free from the GoodReads FirstReads program. less

A good story but the details were just a bit too much.Picking up the next book is a MAYBE.

this is one of the most weirdest but fascinating books that I've read in a long time.
