review 1: I'm not going to lie, I am a little upset that I came across contemporary romance author, Marion Croslydon’s Second Chance Series, at Book 3 with, You Turn, but I am happy I found it. In fact, I'm overjoyed.Lenor Carrington grew up loving her neighbor, Zach Murdoch. Hailing from the Hamptons, both are surrounded by family and friends that enjoy indulging in every excess life can afford them. While Lenor manages to escape the pressures, Zach can’t say no. After a terrible summer, Zach finds himself spiraling out of control, and breaking Lenor’s heart. Flash forward five years, and it’s Lenor’s turn to let loose. After suffering from her second broken heart, Lenor decides it’s time for her to live for her…that is until Zach suddenly reappears in her life. As he... morer world is burning around her, Zach is trying to repay Lenor with the support and friendship that he should have shown her five years ago. But, Lenor just wants to forgive, forget and move on. Finally. You Turn is told mainly from Lenor’s point of view, with frequent flashbacks of the events that occurred five years earlier in the Hamptons, which lead to the rift between Zach and Lenor. Croslydon’s writing style makes it effortless for the reader to seamlessly shift from present to past, and understand wholly who her characters were and who they’ve become. You Turn could have been a predictable and cheesy read, but instead it was unexpectedly romantic and realistic. Croslydon threw in twists and turns that I never saw coming as well as a deeper exploration of her character’s emotions. This story kept me rooting for the characters from the beginning, and it was a light read I didn’t want to put down.I really enjoyed reading You Turn, and I look forward to reading more work by Marion Croslydon.**A free copy was obtained from the author in exchange for an honest review.**
review 2: ***Obsessed by Books arc copy given I'm exchange for an honest review***I was new to this author and this series and read You Turn as a stand alone. I was drawn in to a world of grandeur, set mainly in Paris, pampered princesses and rich men who flaunted their wealth and used their wives and children as trophies and pawns. This is a story of second chances and first loves. It is elegantly written and I quickly admired the inner strength shown by Elenor. Recently dumped by her fiance she returns to her mother who is struggling with her addiction to alcohol and pills. Always a shadow of herself, putting everyone's needs before hers this is her story of finding herself and emerging from the hurt stronger, wiser and more grown up. I applauded her scene in Zach's office..for once she listened to her gut! Zach is a duel personality and I loved his strength and his growth as shown in the flashback chapters written from his pov. He too grew up with a dysfunctional family...a father who was disgraced and a mother who turned to addiction to wipe out the pain. Dealing with his own demons led him to make some mistakes when he was younger that have impacted on his relationship with his Duchess, he still carries the burden of his past. This is his story too, as he strives to make the changes he feels he needs to deserve his first and only love. My only disappointment were the bedroom scenes...I like them hot hot hot! Although I must say they were tender and befitting of the characters. It's a well written romantic tale of two young people that had to be apart to realise they were destined to be together...."Crying isn't for the weak. Crying is for those who are moving on."I was swept away into the beautiful city of love and the supporting cast of Charlie, Ziggy, Clara and Pierre add depth to the main characters and I hope to read more about them soon! less
