review 1: Over the past month I have been reading “True Woman 101″. It is written by Mary Kassian and Nancy Leigh DeMoss, two of my favorite authors. This book has been such a wonderful read- I learned so much and I hope to share a bit of that with you today.“True Woman 101″ is not a book for anyone who wants to be politically correct or wants to go along and please the world. The teachings found in this book are very counter-cultural, but that is what I most appreciated about it. I loved how the authors went against the grain and dove right into God’s Word for what they were going to be teaching.Womanhood as God designed it to be is a glorious thing and this book tells just how amazing it is. Starting with the beginning of Genesis and walking through the Creation Story, w... moree learn all about God’s creation of male and female, and that there are indeed many, many differences between the genders. Then the authors talk about men- their purpose and why God created them, as well as how they are different than women. The chapter, “Sugar and Spice”, goes into full detail about women- their make-up, purpose, and design. The next chapters tells about the battle of the sexes and how sin affected male-female relationships, how God designed marriage to be a picture of the relationship between Jesus Christ and the Church, as well as the differences between a wild woman and a wise woman. Many, many more things are covered in this book, but I just don’t have the time to go into full detail. This book was filled to the brim with Scripture, and every teaching and idea taught was backed up with Scripture. Womanhood, and manhood, was God’s idea- each created with a distinct purpose and design, different from the other. This book contains a message that every woman, and man, needs to hear. If you are looking for a book about womanhood, with solid information found directly in the Bible, then you really need to read this book. I know that I will be referring back to this book often and am thankful that Mary Kassian and Nancy Leigh DeMoss were brave enough to go against the culture and share God’s design for womanhood. This book will not disappoint!**I received this book from Moody Publishers for an honest review.**
review 2: One of the best Bible study/books I've read! Mary Kassian and Nancy Leigh Demoss (and their friends, if you watch the 8 videos that go along with the book) lead you through God's word as they study the basics of being a true woman. This isn't a book on the working mom vs stay-a-home mom vs babywearing vs breastfeeding vs public school debates. Instead, it pulls your focus way back to God. I can't wait for the next one to come out! less
