review 1: I thought this book was amazing. It was really well written, and had a cool story line. When you read this book, you have to pay attention to the headlines, to tell when and where things are happening. I loved how there was one small thing, that lead to a wonderful relationship and friendship. By Tripp Broody, the songwriting guitar player, leaving his trash in the music room he shares with Lyla Marks, the perfect cellist. They start leaving notes to each other. The notes start out as them telling each other what to do and what not to do, but they develop into a friendship. I loved the songs that they wrote, and you could see how the songs connected them. I loved this book and would highly recommend it.
review 2: Tripp and Lyla, two students who are as differen
... moret as night and day. How did they become such great friends? Tripp has spent every living moment over the summer fixing, tuning, and practicing his new guitar. But when his mom takes it away on the first day of school what does he do? He signs up for a music practice room, also requesting a guitar. He is given practice times on odd days only. Lyla, the perfect picture of perfection. Her grades are perfect, her attendance is perfect, she plays the cello perfectly, Tripp heard her sneeze once and even that was perfect. She signs up for a room as well, to practice her award winning cello. She gets the same room as Tripp but on even days. Soon, Lyla starts leaving notes in between the strings on Tripp's guitar, that becomes a steady correspondence, which becomes the start of a blooming friendship. Soon enough Lyla starts to question why she has to be perfect at everything and why she feels like playing the cello isn't something she chose but her dad did. When Lyla and Tripp start writing songs together and get a gig to play their songs at a wedding an accident occurs that could damage the perfect friendship they have. If you liked The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, you'll like this book because of its fast pace and we'll crafted plot. less
