review 1: Dodge City, Kansas in 1878. Most of us know this location through tv shows and movies such as Tombstone. This historical fiction takes us back to a time when life was a struggle to survive, especially for women. Doc Holliday was actually a dentist (I had thought he was an MD). Wyatt Earp and his brothers were intriguing characters who loved their women (prostitutes), fame, and money. The story sections are divided up like a game of cards, ie The Ante. The dialogue and action flows quickly and the reader will marvel -- how did they survive? Full of humor and philosophy.
