... morehe third book in the series but I don't think it matters and it can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed the book although the H and h are not traditional. As I've not read the other books I don't know if this is typical of Ms. Putney or atypical. If I had to guess I'd say all of her characters probably have an air of adventure and trouble. I would've liked more at the end but you will probably see them in her other books. Lady Kiri has one foot in two worlds. She is a Hindu princess from her mothers side and the daughter of an Engkish Duke on her fathers. After the death of her father her mother remarried to a military man. As a result Kiri was raised in India around soldiers. She is a unique woman among her class. Mackenzie is from a different class all together. He is the by-blow of a Duke and an actress. Although he is a wealthy business owner the fact that he is illegitimate means he will never be in the same class as Kiri. Their meeting and involvement are everything but ordinary. If you are looking for adventure, mystery, and love this book is for you. less
