review 1: I got this from the library to see if I'd like it. Well, I liked it so much I bought it. I am familiar with Mary Jo Putney and currently Charlotte Featherstone but this is my first time reading Kristin James. In all three stories, the marriage is to avoid or minimize scandal and in each, the hero is more willing than the heroine which I like."Wedding of the Century" involves an heiress and a second son. At first she is interested in another but he is smitten by her. His brother, the heir dies and she finds herself engaged to the new duke while she is still interested in her first love. I was hooked. How was the hero going to win her heart when it already belonged to another? Loved it."Jesse's Wife" involves the gentry class in Texas. The heroine is compromised inte... morentionally by a fortune hunter and Jesse, who is an orphaned ranch hand of her father, rescues her. He has long adored her and she has always liked him. Jesse offers to marry her so she won't be forced to marry the villain. Now he wants her to love him as he loves her. I don't usually read American historical but fell in love with Jesse because he didn't complain about her cooking nor that she spent so much time reading. I need someone like that."Seduced by Starlight" was brilliant. The story description is good except it suggests the brother is a villain for casting the heroine aside but he is also hero material. Jase marries Blossom, to avoid a scandal after she is abandoned a couple of days before her wedding. She is unaware that he has loved her for years even though she had been promised to his brother. Anyone who has read "Addicted" and "Sinful" will recognize the parents of these two. It was interesting to see how Matthew, the previously hedonistic rake, responded to the seduction of his daughter. Even though these are novellas, they are written well enough to complete the story. I have now read this book a third time.
review 2: I'll mark this off as read, although I only actually read the last book, Seduced by Starlight. I can't find it as a stand alone novel for some reason, so my review for it will have to go here. I did enjoy this one, even though it was quite short. The story line is quite predictable, but not unbearably so. I wish it had been longer, as this author obviously has some talent in this field. Hope to read more of her books, but for now, three stars! less

Loved Wedding of the Century, liked Jesse's Wife, and thought Seduced by Starlight was just ok.
