review 1: I liked the idea of this book, and thought the art was really cool (particularly making main characters have a pop of color somewhere on them to distinguish them). I just couldn't for the life of me follow the story. It wasn't until I read the timeline and the notes in the back of the book that I began to understand who was who and what was what. It might have just been that I wasn't in the right mindset, and should have read it in one sitting, but it just didn't grab me the way I had hoped it would.
review 2: great story. marking the march of British women's suffrage movement in the early 20th century. the fictional character of Sally, helps us understand the plight of working class women in this age. strangely, the character of pankhurst is reallt unlikebale.
... more i'm not a fan of extreme forms of demonstration and she seems quite an objectionable woman. however, this was a cause worth fighting for and the final page adds an element of sadness epceially in light of recent elctorial attendance results... less
