review 1: Like Fables, which I just reviewed, Vampire Knight is really getting into gear again as it nears its ending, which for this series is in the next volume. And I find myself really enjoying the series again, though not quite as much as I did at the beginning.There is still a lot of action that is a bit hard to follow, and logic that is even more difficult, but it's the character moments that really shine. In one of her side-bars, Hino talks about the fact that she wasn't able to do as much with her characters as she wanted to but that she loves them all anyway and I am definitely with her there. Of course, the best moments for me are anything that develop the Yuki/Zero relationship and this volume contains one of their best scenes in the whole series, which is the main rea... moreson it is a four-star volume.I actually already know some of what happens in the next volume but after this, I am very excited to read it and see one of my favourite series come to an end.
review 2: I know how this series ends and I can almost guarantee I am going to be very angry but I'm going to buy it anyway. This volume was really hard to follow. Who is talking in this panel? Why is this character a total doofus all of a sudden? Frustrating. I am going to stick this series out because I know the author is capable of doing better work (Meru Peri, Captive Hearts, Wanted!). This is her longest manga and I think she lost her way in this story but I guess I could blame the editors as much her for letting this story go to s---. The art is still gorgeous. The expressive features of the characters are still there. but the plot is atrocious. less
