review 1: The second Hawkeye collection has all the style and swagger of the first, but between the one-off stories and the timeline jumping, this volume feels more fractured than the first. The opening chapter is the charming tribute to real-world heroism that are a normal part of superhero comics that don't often make it into the trades, but with the guest artists and somber tone, it was a weird way to lead off. Once again Aja's art really shines in this volume. A mostly silent story from a dog's Chris Ware-ian perspective is charming. I'm eager to read more to find out how these story threads pay off.
review 2: I enjoyed both of the Fraction Hawkeye volumes, though I have to admit that I'm a little bit underwhelmed. I'm not sure if it's because I'd been so hyped up f
... moreor the series from Tumblr and word of mouth that I came in expecting far more than what was actually there. I love the approach though. Pizza Dog and Kate Bishop were great and Clint is an enormous human disaster--overall, I thought everyone was fantastically characterized but there was just something missing in most of the stories for me. The villains rarely made sense to me. Sometimes the layout was a little hard to follow and left me a little confused as to what was going on, but I really enjoyed the minimal style and the color schemes. Overall, I still liked it and would recommend. :D less

Worth it for the last chapter alone, a noir homage told from the point of view of Pizza Dog.
