review 1: I liked this more than I expected. The art is not necessarily my cup of tea and it's a little violent, but the mystery pulled me in. With many graphic stories, I feel like it's easy to speed through them without taking in the details, but here I wanted to look closely at each panel to make sure I wasn't missing any details. I also enjoyed the employee guide that runs along the margins providing additional information.
review 2: Had the visuals been any more detailed, the over-the-top violence probably would have bothered me more, but the most gruesome moments are also the ones drawn with very minimal lines and suggestive washes of color rather than clear details (a feature for which I was grateful, as an awful lot of people lose their lives in this!). Damon Lin
... moredelof of Lost fame wrote the intro, and it's a perfect match; anyone who was hooked on Lost's survival-focused, slowly unfolding mystery with its dark, global web of conspirators and serious moral ambiguity will be riveted by this (or I certainly was, anyway). This also requires a similar level of comfort with lots of unknown and unclear factors; every time a question is (partially) answered, a new one is raised, but the concept was strong enough - and cool enough - that I was more than happy to be along for the ride and am definitely seeking out the other titles in the series. Had an awful lot of conceptual ground in common with Lexicon, which I also read for The Hub Challenge. less

I like the thought behind this story and the way it is told, but I don't like the violence.

a true genre bender. Beautiful, but disturbing images.

Truly a trippy little book.
