review 1: I loved this book. I'm a runner and can related to pretty much everything Inman writes about. Well, everything except the hornets and the ultrarunning (my longest distance so far is still only a marathon). The only thing that disappointed me was that there wasn't more new material - I'd previously read all of his running comics on his site. That said, I feel like he was able to explain in amazing words and pictures exactly why I run, so I can't really complain.
review 2: Hilarious and heartfelt, as you'd expect from the Oatmeal. Only docking points for the lengthy coda about running which is neither interesting to look at (mostly repetitive text) and full of this off putting "my way is the only way and if you do it the other way you are doing it wrong" atti
... moretude (speaking as someone who gets his zen running treadmill with headphones, both of which are poopooed in the text). Still, it's the best book I've read in running since Murakimi's book about running, which also means it's the second book I've read about running. less
