review 1: I was so excited to read this because I love this author and I had read Scarecrow. Mid-way through the book I remembered that I didn't actually LIKE Scarecrow...so. much. gore. There's a lot of violence in this book and while I do enjoy the main characters, the villain they were fighting was beyond disturbing. I probably would not recommend this, unless you are a guy that enjoys very violent action books.
review 2: These Matt Reilly books are fast paced action thrillers with the good guy over-coming impossible odds. Seems like each one of his books are like that. Scarecrow is a repeated hero and along with some of his compadres foil the evil villian's master plan to turn chimpanzees into an army of killing machines, in order to take over the world. While Mr.... more Reilly's stories are much the same plot in general, he does create believable scenarios for his protaganists to fix. The books do move along very quickly and are entertaining as one puzzle after another must be solved along with eliminating the enemy at every turn. Fun read. less
