review 1: Second in the Commissario Ricciardi series. Good plot with several strands running at one time and good writing. However, it is the characters that bring me back to this series. de Giovanni develops characters slowly, offering brief, tantalizing clues into who they are. Often, finding out who they are is the greater mystery, including the mystery of the commisario himself. If you want a beach read, pick up the latest James Patterson. If you want a read that will take some thought and time, this may be the series for you.
review 2: In questo libro ci sono 100 pagine di troppo, quasi tutte all'inizio. La partenza è lenta e troppi sono gli intrecci che De Giovanni vuole proporre. Poi però la narrazione riesce a prendere un suo ritmo e si arriva bene sino i... moren fondo. Il tema del dolore e del "Fatto", che ben avevano caratterizzato il primo episodio della serie, cominciano un po' a stancare, ma nel complesso il libro merita comunque di essere letto. less
