review 1: Physicist Max Tegmark starts his book well, providing the reader with a summary of where physics is along its course of understanding the universe and how physics got to be in that position. But then, once the foundation is laid, Tegmark seems to wildly rush along a string of seemingly logical suppositions to end up with a fanciful picture of the ultimate nature of reality. At various points along the way, I thought I would probably enjoy re-reading this book in order to gain a deeper understanding. However, by the end of the book, I realized that I would never re-read this book because the conclusions it arrives at are simply too loosely strung together.

Though I don't feel anyone has the answers, I am interested in the questions, Even though the ideas are speculative and the book rambles a bit, It was an engaging read if you are a layman interested in this sort of thing. less
