review 1: I found this to be a great start to a great manga! It was a bit slow to get started, but that's fairly common, is it not? Once I got a few chapters in, however, I was really drawn in! I was invested in seeing how the story played out, and how Miko and Kagura's relationship developed. Yes, I admit it, I was almost immediately a Kagura-x-Miko shipper. The characters were wonderful! It almost feels as if Kagura's incubus powers were capable of traveling out of the book to the reader, because I had an almost immediate attachment to him. He is attractive and alluring without being too perfect. He can be a total asshole at times, but then he can turn around and be so sweet to Miko when he realizes he;s upsetting her. As for Miko, I feel she could be stronger, but at the same time... more, she wouldn't be our Miko if she wasn't so clueless and adorable. Miko's parents were also very believable with their reactions. For background character, even thought they aren't as developed as the main ones (obviously) they still felt real. The artwork is very well done. The artist is very good at portraying a lot of personality and emotion in them, and each character look relatively unique. It also had excellent pacing; none of the stories felt rushed or dragged on too much. The cliff-hanger ending to the third chapter also made me want to read the second volume as soon as possible! Overall, it was a very good manga. I would recommend it to anyone who likes hot guys and/or sweet romances with a supernatural twist. Guys probably wouldn't like it too much, and people who are too uptight about things like demons or who prefer more realistic stories probably wouldn't find this enjoyable, but it's adorable and great for teenage girls looking for a nice story and a quick escape from the real world!
review 2: Well this an interesting take on the priestess and demon manga storylines. The priestess is young and lacks a sixth sense for seeing spirits. But with the help of powerful incubus she managed to bind she has a fighting chance against the demons invading her town. The beginning is quite fast-paced, dealing with her gaining the demon's help in the first chapter. It feels slightly familiar to Mugen Spiral, with the exceptions here being the priestess being unskilled and the demon, Kagura, being a sexually-driven incubus. All the while they try to cooperate with each other. It seems like a good starting set-up to the series I hope more character development and humor occurs as the readers get to know these characters in further volumes. less
