review 1: 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars!!! This was a nice story...that seems to be the general opinion on most of the reviews I read also! Brian and Derek were nice...the dogs were nice...not much of a cat person...so I am not going there...but the one GREAT thing about this story was POE!!!!! If there is not a book for him I will just sit down and cry!!! I hope the author expands on both the shifter world and the MCs backgrounds as the series progresses!!! Improvement of attention to details would be nice also...yeah...I saw what I just did!!! haha I really feel that "nice" will move up to "good" in the series...so I shall persevere and read the next one!!! BTW...what is up with the cover on the novella...those guys are just....not these guys!!!! lol
review 2:... more This book was a tad too formulaic & predictable to be classed as good. The characters were nice enough. The set-up was pretty predictable...so too was the angst. You get insta-mate/insta-love, (which is always difficult to write well) & a psychic/paranormal police force. There were tantalising hints of a back story (Derek's pack & Brian's ex) but they aren't elaborated on enough. Overall this was an okay read. Takes about 20 minutes to read & you will have a nice time but don't expect too much out of this book. less
