review 1: I took awhile to get around to this one. Mostly because I have a copy (well, a partial anyway) of the original version and hadn't thought this one would be so different. Yeah. I was wrong. There are some similarities but the rewrite on this was so extensive, I'm not sure how much I like this version. It's alright, I suppose. The demon vessels in the third part make for a more action - driven plot but that was perhaps the only change I liked. The characters were a lot more shallow than the originals. I loved Koray and Neikirk in the original but they were a bit lackluster here. kind of Marty Stu's really. There didn't seem to be much character progression in this one, unfortunately. Especially with Neikirk. Typically I like the chase in my romances and Newkirk's was sor... moret of handed to the audience. I might have liked this better if I'd never read the original. However, it still wouldn't get five stars due to the sheer annoyance of the lack of editing. There were far too many spelling and grammatical errors for a published work, something that's seems to be synonumous with Megan's work lately. Seriously, if you're not going to edit the work then certainly don't charge as much for it.
review 2: My one complaint with this book -- aside from a few mis-spellings that did not succeed in taking me out of the fantasy (Bad, *bad* typos!)is that it ended where it did. Don't get me wrong, there's no evil cliffhanger and most of the plot points are resolved, so it would seem. But there is room for more exploration, more adventures in this fascinating world. Sequel please, Dear Author, and soon. :-) less
